Sunbathing tourists come to the aid of a group of 46 would-be immigrants on La Tejita Beach on the Spanish Canary Island of Tenerife, Thursday Aug. 3, 2006, after the boat they were in ran aground. This was the third boat to arrive on the island Thursday, lifting the total of migrants detained there to 199. So far this month, 515 migrants have been intercepted off Tenerife, and a total of 2,245 arrived in the Canary Islands in July, 11 of them declared dead on arrival, an Interior Ministry spokeswoman said.
